Mid Summer's Night Market

On Saturday the 21st June 2025, Wickford BID held their first ever event.

A night market in Lower Southend Road, from 6pm until 11pm. The road was closed in the interests of safety, and residents were soon enjoying the ambience of the evening. They enjoyed browsing the market stalls, chosen to complement the existing businesses along Lower Southend Road, The Broadway and Runwell Road, not to compete with them. The local eateries benefitted from the extra custom the event brought. Some of the local businesses stayed open later than usual, to attract extra customers, and all did a great job.

Posh Boys Brewery provided the entertainment, with a stage full of very talented singers, Wickford Tandoori brought our delicious snacks, and everyone had a thoroughly fantastic time.

We enjoyed it so much, and the evening was an absolute success, so much so we are planning to recreate the night market later in the year.
